Simplicity—The Gulde 3800SA is easy to use. If you are installing the instrument for the first time, you will find that the linkage-less feedback system is easy to install. When the magnetic strip is mounted on the valve stem, positioner replacement becomes simple because there are no parts physically connected between the valve stem and the positioner. The first basic function of the Gulde 3800SA smart positioner is to provide the user with a local user interface that allows the user to configure, calibrate and set the instrument. If the I/O option package is installed, the user can calibrate the 4-20 mA valve position transmitter and set the limit switch action. Running the quick setup program can calibrate and set the instrument to suit the specific actuator. The local interface uses a full text display for easy operation.
