OKVELD control valve is an axial-flow piston-type control valve, featuring a sophisticated structural design and precise control mechanism to meet the demanding requirements of industrial process regulation. Its core control principle integrates mechanical transmission, fluid throttling, and automatic signal conversion, ensuring reliable and accurate operation.
In terms of internal fluid control, the piston is guided within a cage, and throttling occurs between the piston edge and the orifices on the cage. Fluid flows from outside the cage, resulting in high velocity within the multi-layered orifices of the cage—crafted from highly corrosion and abrasion-resistant materials to withstand harsh working conditions . The sealing system adopts a self-tightening pressure design, with the main seal ring located at the front end of the cage. Throughout the full stroke, the piston maintains stable guidance; when pushed through the main seal ring, the pressure difference across the valve forces the seal ring to tightly adhere to the piston wall, achieving leak-tight closure .
For mechanical transmission, the valve stem and piston are vertically orthogonal, connected via a 45° rack-and-pinion mechanism on the piston rod . This unique transmission converts the vertical movement of the valve stem into the horizontal axial movement of the piston within the cage. When the actuator drives the valve stem upward, the piston moves backward to open the valve; conversely, downward movement of the valve stem reduces the valve opening . The piston is equipped with balance holes to equalize internal and external pressure, ensuring smooth movement independent of axial pressure and minimizing actuation torque .
