AMCO AFV Axial Flow Valve (ANSI 600#-4") - Technical Specification

Basic Information

  • Brand: AMCO
  • Model: AFV ANSI 600#-4"
  • Origin: USA
  • Delivery Time: 1-2 weeks

Core Components

The axial flow valve is composed of three main parts:

  1. Valve Body
    • Body: Galvanized carbon steel.
    • Rectifying Fence Sealers: Two interchangeable units made of stainless steel.
    • Expandable Rubber Sleeve: The core component, available in different materials.
    • Fasteners: Bolts and rounded cap screws for overall assembly.
  2. Control Manifold
    • Adjustable Restrictor: Integrated design to adjust the valve's response speed.
    • Filter: Located at the front of the restrictor to remove foreign particles.
    • Venturi-type Manifold (Optional): Used for applications with small pressure differentials, reducing the pressure drop required for full opening.
  3. Actuator

Working Principle

The valve's operation is governed by the balance between control pressure and downstream pressure, with the expansion and contraction of the rubber sleeve being the key mechanism.

  • Fully Open Position: Control pressure is low, and downstream pressure forces the valve open. The downstream rectifying fence protrudes fully into the upstream section, allowing full airflow.
  • Throttling Position: Control pressure enters the outside of the sleeve, causing it to partially expand. This partially closes the airflow passage, regulating the flow.
  • Closed Position: When downstream gas is sufficient and the residual pressure balances with the control pressure, the sleeve fully expands, closing the valve passage.
